A quiet agent as a spare: what PinguBuy states, how stale its reviews are and how to test it cheaply

Checked and updated .

Short answer: PinguBuy states no service fee and 90 days of free storage on its own site, and its homepage answered on 12 October 2026, but public evidence is thin: Trustpilot showed 3.6 from 45 reviews with the newest dated 4 April 2026, and the site does not publish a QC photo count. KakoBuy has more recent reviews and a published 100-day window. Use PinguBuy as a spare only, starting with one small order.

Rows for a low-value PinguBuy test order

These product photos come from repbuysheet.com, which has 10,000+ products to choose from. Each card opens its product page there with the full photo set and price; the selection changes every month.

Why a quiet agent can still be a useful spare

A KakoBuy row that fails is still a Chinese-marketplace listing, and several agents can buy it. PinguBuy is one that states no service fee. Its weakness is not price but evidence: few people have written about it lately.

  • Suits: a low-value item where a mistake costs little.
  • Suits: buyers who want a second account that is not crowded.
  • Does not suit: a high-value haul, or anyone who relies on recent reviews.

PinguBuy is a candidate for a test order, not for a full haul.

A test-order plan before moving a real row

Run a small trial first. Pick a cheap row, ideally under ¥100 (about $14 at ¥1 ≈ $0.14), so a failure costs little.

  1. Find the original Taobao, Weidian or 1688 address in the KakoBuy link using the link converter.
  2. Paste it into PinguBuy's search box; we recorded no link template.
  3. Read the cart total and compare with KakoBuy's page.
  4. Pay for that one order, and ask support how many QC photos you will receive.
  5. Note the stored date and write down day 90.
  6. Judge it on photos, speed of replies and the parcel quote, then decide on a bigger row.

Log each step in the row check CSV so you can compare agents on the same columns.

Spend ¥100 to learn what a ¥1,000 haul would have taught you.

Review age, in numbers

From 4 April to 5 October 2026 is 184 days, about six months, with no new Trustpilot review. KakoBuy's page, read on 12 October, showed 280 reviews in the previous 12 months and 321 in total. Those pools differ, so avoid concluding that either is better. The point is that for PinguBuy you must test, because you cannot lean on fresh public experience. Our KakoBuy legitimacy page shows what a busier record looks like, including its complaints.

Six months without a review means test first.

Customs and next steps

Customs follow your country. German buyers pay 19% import VAT from the first euro, and KakoBuy adds €3 per parcel for the EU duty, as our Germany page sets out. PinguBuy's handling was not in our notes. If the trial goes badly, the agents hub lists alternatives such as CSSBuy, and the contact page has a QR for questions. Pay per order throughout.

Test small, then decide.

Questions buyers ask

Does PinguBuy charge a service fee?

Its own site says no service fee, according to our read on 6 October 2026. That matches KakoBuy, whose help centre charges nothing beyond item cost and shipping. A stated zero fee does not cover extras such as photos, packing or declarations, and PinguBuy's list of those was not in our notes, so check the cart total before you pay.

How old are PinguBuy's Trustpilot reviews?

The newest of its 45 reviews was dated 4 April 2026 when we read the page on 5 October 2026, a gap of 184 days. The score was 3.6. KakoBuy's newest reviews were from late September and early October 2026. A quiet profile does not prove a problem, but it leaves you with less recent evidence.

How many QC photos does PinguBuy give?

The count is not on its own site, so we cannot say. An earlier third-party pass suggested 3 to 5, but that is unverified. KakoBuy also does not publish its free count; community estimates are 3 to 5, and extra photos cost ¥2 each. Ask PinguBuy support for a number in writing before ordering.

How long does PinguBuy store parcels?

90 days, according to its own site. KakoBuy gives 100 days, an email at day 90 and a 30-day cooling-off period at ¥10 per order. We did not find what PinguBuy charges after day 90, so aim to ship before then and count from the stored date, not the order date.

Is PinguBuy a sensible first backup for KakoBuy rows?

Only for a low-value test. The agent lists no fee and is reachable, but sparse recent reviews mean you carry more of the risk. Paying for one order, receiving it, and then deciding is a cheaper way to learn than moving a whole haul. Agents with fresher reviews are a safer first choice.
