When Oopbuy makes sense as a second door
A spreadsheet row is just a pointer to a seller listing. If KakoBuy is slow, shows an error or will not accept the link, the same listing can be bought through another agent that supports the marketplace. Oopbuy is one of the open options on our agents hub, with the label Open meaning only that its site answered on 12 October 2026.
- Suits: a row not yet paid, where you want to see if the same item is quoted cheaper.
- Suits: a buyer who wants PayPal, Wise, cards or Klarna, which Oopbuy's pages list.
- Does not suit: a haul already stored at KakoBuy, where the goods are already sitting.
Switch unpaid rows only; never try to relocate goods already in a warehouse.

KakoBuy item pages use kakobuy.com/item/details?url= followed by the encoded marketplace address. For Oopbuy, we have no verified link template, so the safe route is the original address: Taobao item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=, Weidian weidian.com/item.html?itemID= or 1688 detail.1688.com/offer/<id>.html.
- Open the KakoBuy row and copy the part after
url=, or paste the whole link into the link converter. - Decode it so it reads as a plain marketplace address.
- Paste that address into Oopbuy's search box while signed in on the real domain.
- Compare the item photo, price and variants with the spreadsheet row before paying.

On a hypothetical $28 item (about ¥200), PayPal costs about $1.56 at Oopbuy ($28 × 4.5% + $0.30) and about $1.28 at KakoBuy's higher rate ($28 × 3.5% + $0.30). Small, but it means Oopbuy's free service is not the whole price.
Fee-for-fee the two are close; payment method decides more than the headline.
What changes for US, UK and EU buyers
The legal side does not change with the agent. The US ended its $800 duty-free threshold in 2025, the EU applies a flat €3 duty per tariff category on parcels up to €150 from 1 July 2026, and UK VAT on goods up to £135 is collected at the point of sale. KakoBuy documents tax-free lines; its estimator on 12 October 2026 quoted $23.70 for 1,000 g to Germany and $16.29 to the UK. Questions buyers ask
Can I paste a KakoBuy product link straight into Oopbuy?
No. A KakoBuy link is a kakobuy.com address with the real marketplace URL tucked inside it. Oopbuy cannot read that wrapper, and we found no official Oopbuy template for it. Pull out the Taobao, Weidian or 1688 address, or use our converter, then paste that original address into Oopbuy's search box and confirm the item page matches the photo.
Does Oopbuy really charge no service fee?
Oopbuy's own pages say there is no service fee, and we read them on 6 October 2026. You still pay the item price, domestic freight to the warehouse, international shipping and the payment-method fee. The one number we can calculate is PayPal: Oopbuy lists 4.5% plus $0.30, which on a $28 item is about $1.56.
Is Oopbuy's missing Trustpilot score a warning sign?
It is a reason to read more carefully, not proof of a problem. On 5 October 2026 Trustpilot showed 971 reviews but had withdrawn the headline score. KakoBuy by comparison showed 4.2 from 321 reviews on 12 October. Because lookalike domains exist, check the address bar before you log in, and pay per order.
How long does Oopbuy keep my items compared with KakoBuy?
Oopbuy's official page gives 90 days of storage, then ¥10 per 30 days. KakoBuy gives 100 days free, with a reminder email at day 90. If your haul is split across two agents, note the Oopbuy date first in your tracker, because its free window ends ten days sooner than the KakoBuy one.
Will an Oopbuy parcel avoid the EU €3 duty or the US duty change?
Neither agent changes the law. From 1 July 2026 EU parcels up to €150 carry a flat €3 duty per tariff category, and the US ended its $800 duty-free threshold in 2025. KakoBuy says it charges €3 per parcel and sells tax-free lines. For Oopbuy, we could not verify equivalent terms, so check its estimator.
When is it not worth switching a row to Oopbuy?
When KakoBuy already holds paid items for that order. Money and stored goods stay where they are, and moving only the next row means two shipping fees on two light parcels. Switch only unpaid rows, ideally ones the seller has not yet dispatched, and keep each agent's parcel weight separate.
