What we tested, and what we did not
On 12 October 2026 we pasted a Weidian listing address into KakoBuy's item-page pattern. The page loaded, labelled the source as Weidian, and showed a yuan price, an estimated international shipping cost and the purchasing hours of 09:00 to 18:00 Beijing time. That is real evidence that Weidian rows can be bought through KakoBuy.
We did not place an order, so we cannot report delivery times, seller behaviour or refund outcomes. Think of this as a link test, not a purchase review. The wider routine on our KakoBuy spreadsheet hub applies on top.
Link works; delivery performance on Weidian is unverified.
Reading the itemID in a Weidian address
Weidian is a platform for small independent sellers, so a shop can be small and run by one person. The listing address is weidian.com/item.html?itemID= plus a number. Keep that number and the shop name from the page; sheets that lose the shop name make it hard to re-find a delisted item later.
Three link shapes show up in spreadsheets:
- The plain Weidian address, which can go straight into the link converter.
- A KakoBuy link with the Weidian address after
url=, already wrapped. - A shortened share link from a chat app, which you should open and resolve before trusting.
Store the itemID and the shop name together.
Weidian against Taobao, row by row
| Question | Taobao | Weidian |
|---|---|---|
| In the well-supported list | Yes | No; named only in priority-purchase help |
| Seller dispatch time | 3–7 days (custom and pre-sale excluded) | Not published |
| Priority purchase days | Mon–Sun, 9:00–18:00 | Mon–Sun, 9:00–18:00 |
| Handling fee | None | None stated |
| Return window | 5 days after stocked, if the seller allows returns | Same rule |
The return rule matters most. KakoBuy accepts a return or exchange only if the seller offers it, and small shops often do not. Read the seller notes on the item page, then compare with the Taobao route on the 1688 page, where minimums add another layer.
Plan on a Weidian purchase being final unless the listing says otherwise.
Small-shop risks a spreadsheet will not show
A spreadsheet captures a moment. Between that moment and your order, a Weidian seller may change the colours, raise the price or take the product down. Spreadsheets also tend to recycle the same sellers, which concentrates the risk on a few shops.
- Open the item through KakoBuy and confirm the variant you want is listed, not just the photo.
- Write the price you saw and the date in your tracker. The row-check sheet has columns for it.
- Pay for that single order, not a bundle of unrelated rows.
- Watch the order status and ask support if nothing moves.
Goods that infringe trademarks are prohibited in KakoBuy's terms, and parcels containing them can be seized by customs. A listing being cheap is not a safe signal either way.
One order, one check, one dated price note.
What reaches your door and when
After the item is stocked and inspected, Weidian and Taobao orders converge: the same warehouse, the same parcel rules, the same lines. KakoBuy's estimator on 12 October 2026 quoted $16.29 for 1,000 g to the UK and $23.70 to Germany on its cheapest listed lines. Our UK page shows the others. If you do not want your own account, the WhatsApp QR on the contact page is the other route.
Past the warehouse door, a Weidian parcel behaves like any other.
Questions buyers ask
What does a Weidian link look like?
A Weidian listing address uses the pattern weidian.com/item.html?itemID= followed by a number. That number is the product. In a KakoBuy spreadsheet the same address usually sits inside a kakobuy.com link after url=. If a row shows only a shortened or app-share link, open it in a browser first and copy the full address from the address bar.
Is Weidian officially supported by KakoBuy?
Not by name. KakoBuy's help page on supported platforms lists Taobao, Tmall, 1688 and JD.com. Weidian appears in another help article about priority purchase hours, grouped with Yupoo and Xianyu, and a Weidian item page loaded on 12 October 2026. So it works today, but it is not in the official well-supported list and could change.
How long does a Weidian seller take to dispatch?
KakoBuy does not publish it. Its dispatch figure of 3 to 7 days is for Taobao sellers, and JD.com and Amazon sellers have their own rules. Small Weidian shops set their own pace, so message nobody and wait for the order status to change. Use the seller-to-warehouse figures of about 1, 3 or 7 working days only after dispatch.
Can a Weidian shop vanish after I have paid?
It can happen, because listings are controlled by individual sellers who can edit or delist them. KakoBuy's cancellation rules apply: before the order is processed you can ask support to cancel, and money paid through PayPal or a card returns to the original account. Check the shop shows the item before you pay, and pay per order.
Do Weidian items cost more through KakoBuy than Taobao items?
KakoBuy states it takes no handling fee on any shopping order, so the fee lines are the same: item, domestic freight, international shipping and customs charges, with a declaration cost of generally ¥8. The seller's own freight varies by shop. We found no official Weidian surcharge, and we cannot say whether prices differ from Taobao.
Are priority purchase hours different for Weidian?
Only slightly. KakoBuy's priority purchase page says Taobao, Tmall, JD and Weidian, Yupoo and Xianyu orders run Monday to Sunday, 9:00 to 18:00, while other third-party platforms run Monday to Friday. Priority purchase costs ¥5 per order and aims to process within 4 hours of buyer working time. Pick the faster option only when stock is short.
