Who should reach for CSSBuy when a KakoBuy row stalls
A KakoBuy row can fail for plain reasons: the seller sold out, the line you wanted vanished from the estimator, or the site was down. The same Taobao, Weidian or 1688 listing can usually be bought through another agent, provided that agent accepts the marketplace.
- It suits you if the row is time-sensitive and you accept a percentage fee to get it bought today.
- It suits you if you already have a CSSBuy account and know its loyalty tier.
- It does not suit you if the haul is large and fee-sensitive: KakoBuy's help centre says it requires no handling fee beyond item cost and shipping.
CSSBuy is a rescue route for one stuck row, not a cheaper way to run a whole haul.

One third-party directory, rep.tools (which earns a KakoBuy affiliate commission), also gave "about 6%" in its CSSBuy guide, which matches the lower official figure and does not settle the conflict.
Status is Open, and the fee is unsettled between 6 and 10%.
What the two rates cost next to KakoBuy
We assume the rate applies to the goods price, so it grows with the basket. These are hypothetical baskets, not quotes, at ¥1 ≈ $0.14.
¥200 item, 6%: 200 × 0.06 = ¥12, about $1.68
¥200 item, 10%: 200 × 0.10 = ¥20, about $2.80
¥1,000 basket, 6%: ¥60, about $8.40
¥1,000 basket, 10%: ¥100, about $14.00

International shipping is separate and usually decides the total. KakoBuy's fees page lists every extra service, so you can compare line by line.
Expect ¥12 to ¥20 extra per ¥200 of goods at CSSBuy.

A KakoBuy product link looks like kakobuy.com/item/details?url= followed by the encoded marketplace address. We found no CSSBuy deep-link pattern in our notes, so the safe route is manual. Take the original address out of the KakoBuy link and paste it into CSSBuy's search box.
- Copy everything after
url=and decode it, or run it through the link converter. - Confirm it is a Taobao, Weidian or 1688 address.
- Paste it into CSSBuy's search box and compare the shop name and price with the KakoBuy page.
- Pay for that one order only, and do not leave money sitting in the account.

What changes for US, UK, German and Spanish buyers
Customs rules belong to your country, not the agent. In the US, goods from China no longer get the old $800 duty-free allowance, so a KakoBuy tax-free line costs roughly $5 to $10 more per package, by KakoBuy's April 2025 notice. For Germany, KakoBuy adds €3 per parcel for the EU duty. CSSBuy's equivalent handling was not in our notes, so check its estimator for your address before paying. Questions buyers ask
Which CSSBuy fee rate should I budget for?
Budget for 10% until you see otherwise in your own cart. CSSBuy's Cost & Fees page states 6%, but its FAQ gives 10% as the standard rate, with 8, 7 and 6% for VIP levels. Both pages are official and they contradict each other. On a ¥1,000 basket that is ¥60 against ¥100, while KakoBuy charges no service fee.
Is CSSBuy still running, or just protected by a bot wall?
Its site answered with a Cloudflare challenge page to a plain request on 12 October 2026. That is ordinary bot protection and not a closure sign, so we kept the 6 October status of Open. We could not load the order pages without logging in. Open the site in a normal browser before moving a row, and pay per order.
How long can items sit in CSSBuy storage?
CSSBuy's own pages say 90 days free, then 15 RMB per ID per month. KakoBuy gives 100 days and then charges ¥10 per order per 30 days, with a 30-day cooling-off period. The wording differs, so ask CSSBuy what an ID means before you leave anything past day 90. Ship the parcel before then if you can.
Can I paste a KakoBuy link into CSSBuy?
Not directly. A KakoBuy link wraps the marketplace address after url=, and we found no CSSBuy link format in our notes. Pull the original Taobao, Weidian or 1688 address out of the KakoBuy link with the converter, then paste that address into CSSBuy's search box. Check the price and shop name match before paying.
Does CSSBuy list the same payment methods as KakoBuy?
We could not confirm its payment list. KakoBuy's help centre names PayPal, Alipay, WeChat Pay and Wise, with PayPal carrying a handling fee quoted as 2.9% or 3.5% plus US$0.30 on different pages. CSSBuy's methods were not readable in our notes, so look at its checkout before moving a row.
