Can a Taobao row go into KakoBuy at all?
Yes. Taobao is the platform most KakoBuy spreadsheet rows point to, and KakoBuy's help centre names Taobao and Tmall (Alibaba Group's brand-store site, treated here as part of the Taobao family) among the platforms it supports well. You do not need an account on the marketplace itself; KakoBuy buys on your behalf.
The catch is that a row is a pointer, not a promise. Sellers sell out, edit variants and change prices, so the row may be stale before you open it. Our KakoBuy spreadsheet hub shows how we check rows, and the grid below lists Taobao-style products to run through those checks.

Turning the listing address into a KakoBuy link
KakoBuy item pages follow one pattern: kakobuy.com/item/details?url= then the marketplace address, URL-encoded. A Taobao original looks like item.taobao.com/item.htm?id= followed by digits. The digits identify the listing; tracking parameters can be dropped.
- Copy the Taobao address from the row, or the part after
url=if the row already uses a KakoBuy link. - Run it through the link converter to get a clean KakoBuy address.
- Open the page and compare photo, colour options and price with the row.
- If KakoBuy cannot read the link, use the manual form: name, price and link, filled in exactly.
Keep the item ID; everything else in the address is disposable.

Taobao timing runs on several separate clocks, and KakoBuy publishes only some of them.

Add those up and a Taobao row commonly needs one to two weeks before the parcel is even submitted, which is why our KakoBuy shipping page lists line times separately.
Budget about two weeks to the warehouse, then the line time on top.
What a Taobao row costs end to end
KakoBuy states that it charges no handling fee: you pay the item, domestic freight to the warehouse, international shipping and customs charges. It also lists a customs declaration cost of generally ¥8. Here is a hypothetical, using ¥1 as about $0.14 and KakoBuy's estimator quote of $39.28 for 1,000 g on its USPS Tax-Free Line to the United States (12 October 2026, no dimensions).
Item: ¥200 × $0.14 = $28.00

The shipping line costs more than the item. That ratio is typical for one-item parcels, and it is why combining rows matters. Our USA page has the full set of quotes.
On a single cheap item, shipping is the biggest line; plan the parcel, not the row.
Checks that catch Taobao-specific problems
- Sizing: KakoBuy's guide says each Taobao seller uses its own size standard and a hand measurement may differ by 1 to 3 cm. Use measurements, not labels.
- Pre-sale and custom tags: these fall outside the 3 to 7 day estimate.
- Inspection scope: KakoBuy checks appearance, model, style, colour, size and large damage, but not colour difference or loose threads. See QC photos.
- Goods that attract customs attention: KakoBuy's terms prohibit trademark-infringing goods, and parcels can be seized or returned.

Questions buyers ask
Does KakoBuy accept Tmall links as well as Taobao links?
Yes. KakoBuy's help centre names Taobao, Tmall, 1688 and JD.com together as the platforms it supports well. We tested a Weidian link on 12 October 2026 but did not load a Tmall item, so treat Tmall as officially supported rather than personally confirmed. If a link is not recognised, the help centre says you can fill in name, price and link by hand.
Why does a Taobao row sometimes show a different price in KakoBuy?
KakoBuy shows prices in yuan with a converted estimate, and says it adjusts its exchange rate using Bank of China rates. Sellers also change prices and variants after a spreadsheet is written. An example item page showed CNY ¥488 as about $79.01. Always read the price on the KakoBuy item page, not the spreadsheet cell, before paying.
How long until a Taobao item reaches the KakoBuy warehouse?
KakoBuy says Taobao sellers send goods in 3 to 7 days, not counting custom or pre-sale items. After dispatch the trip to its Xiamen warehouse takes about 1 working day from the Pearl River Delta, about 3 from the Yangtze River Delta and about 7 from other areas. Add inspection time before you submit the parcel.
Can I get a refund if the Taobao seller sent the wrong size?
KakoBuy's return and exchange window is 5 days (120 hours) after the item is stocked, and only if the seller offers returns. Seller errors and quality faults are not charged to you. Another help page mentions 14 days for some warehouse statuses, so treat 5 days as the safe limit and ask support in writing the same day.
Do I need a Taobao account to buy through KakoBuy?
No. You use a KakoBuy account, and KakoBuy buys from the seller on your behalf, between 09:00 and 18:00 Beijing time after payment. Questions about stock or size can go through KakoBuy support, whose hours are 8:00 to 20:00 Beijing time. Check the item page before paying, because sellers change stock and variants after a sheet is written, and keep a screenshot of the row so support can see what you meant.
